Oh, my! I got a stash of wool sweaters from the Goodwill. Lovely things. Does anyone have a problem cutting them apart? Oh, boy, that was painful.
The white ones I got are in the dryer while I am taking these photos. I need to felt these a little more before I use them. I am anxious to make some of those cupcake pincushions of Betz White's Warm Fuzzies book. There are a few more ideas I have in mind, too. But, I have to say----I had to look the other way while I was cutting them up.......*sigh*, is recycling always like this?
When I took the whites out of the dryer, it was exciting to see the results........these I am showing are not done yet.
I would love to see if you have done any work with felted wool sweaters. Direct me to a link in your comments if you have any. I think I picked out some special sweaters........If you must know my favorite sweater artist, here it is: Cocoon Design on Etsy. Oh, my gosh---she is amazing! I will never be as creative as she is, but she sure is inspiring! Unbelieveable! For Valentines, maybe I must have these!!! Oh My! I mean it, I have never seen such cool sweater art! She might very well become my favorite Softie maker, also.

WOW! I can't believe the wool sweaters you found! There are some really lovely ones there! I live in the deep south of Alabama and not too many people wear wool sweaters. I have not been able to find any at our Salvation Army store here. I did find three at a yard sale and felted them, but have not made anything out of them yet. I did felt some wool clothes one time that belonged to my mother-in-law after she died. I made a couple penny rugs with them but have not posted any pictures of them as that was several years ago.
Have a Blessed Day,
Diane

I never thought about the fact that sweaters wouldnt be so abundant down there. Maybe thats why the recyclers can sell them on etsy so well. Betz White has a new tape measure pattern that is too cute, that I will try also. I will show pictures when I get something made.

Hey eydie, thanks for stopping by and leaving a get well wish on my blog...and by the way, I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one who has a difficult time repurposing clothing into crafty goodness!
