It takes a long time for the softies to take down a tree and haul it home, so they started early. I couldn't help thinking of the multiple times that we took the five kids Christmas tree shopping at tree farms. We walked around for hours trying to all agree on the right tree. Then the kids took turns with the saw until the tree felled. or is that "was felled"? *shrug* I don't know......After all the years, we figured out what was our favorite tree....which one couldn't hold up ornaments, which one we had to wear gloves to decorate, which one had the bent trunk. The bent trunk was our favorite, but it made the tree putter-upper crazy.......
Flip was driving for most of the way, although all of them took turns walking along side as the scooter wasn't big enough for all of them to ride. I got the scooter from the auction this weekend. I was so happy to get it. There was a really neat old wooden buggy, the scrollie kind, but it went for more money than I could give to it.
We had to get the softies ready for the Softies Central Holiday Awards which close on Halloween day. I didn't really know what category to place these tree hauling doggies, but I tried. While getting these guys ready, they so reminded me of my children. They all have different personalities and all fit into different places in the family order. They just tell you what its going to be, you don't choose it. It's pretty funny for someone with the imagination I have.....LOL.
The newest softie: George
He is a real easy going guy, too. I think he will be a writer, he is so quiet and observing. He didn't say much during the tree hunt, I think he was taking it all in for future reference.
So, here they all are: Darcy and Darby, forefront; Sherman, George and Flip in the background, with Flip driving. See you tomorrow!

I just LOVE the softies taking the tree home ... adorable.
